Rakuten now allowing users to shop with crypto

Rakuten, an e-commerce Japanese giant which has over 95 million registered users, is permitting its customers to use digital currencies for shopping all over Japan.

The company announced that users of Rakuten’s cryptocurrency wallet are now able to exchange the firm’s e-money Rakuten Cash for bitchttps://coin-ed.org/lexikon/bitcoin-btc/oin, ether, and bitcoin cash, to charge the Point credit card and the Pay app.

For these types of transfers, there won’t be charged any fee. The company will allow transfers that can vary from 1,000 yen ($9.37) to a maximum of 100,000 yen ($937) as a total value in a one-month period.

Every user will be able to pay with digital currency at all the sellers that engage with Rakuten Pay and Rakuten Point Card, across all of Japan.

Rakuten is giving bonus points to everyone leveraging “Rakuten Cash” through digital currency assets, to celebrate the newest cryptocurrency service. It is also expected that the company will incorporate its crypto wallet into the Pay app very soon.
