Billionaire Rick Caruso announced on Wednesday that in partnership with Gemini, his company is investing a part of its funds in Bitcoin. Gemini is well known in the crypto world as one of the most important exchange platforms, where users can create their digital wallets and begin trading in very simple ways.

“We believe that cryptocurrency is here to stay. We believe that bitcoin is a right investment for us. We’ve allocated a percentage of what would normally go into the capital markets into bitcoin.”

Caruso said in an interview Wednesday on CNBC’s “Power Lunch.”

Caruso Properties is now officially the first and the biggest real estate firm to implement cryptocurrency payments for their tenants.

“We have partnered with the most innovative company in cryptocurrency management and blockchain technology because they are reinventing the way we do business for tomorrow.”

said Rick Caruso.

The magnate wants to go even further when it comes to technology and is considering the implementation of blockchain applications and NFTs in the company’s services. Even though Caruso didn’t explain how these will actually impact the real estate industry, he believes they will improve the way the firm engages with clients.

“We envision a myriad of opportunities where we can better engage our guests and enhance their experience on our properties like introducing blockchain enabled rewards and enabling cryptocurrency payments. Partnering with Gemini on consumer applications will bring endless options, but we also see a future of how this technology will bring people together.”
